(b) Heterotrophs : Non-green plants which lack chlorophyll and cannot make their own food are called heterotrophic plants. They can be parasitic (derive their food from other living organisms) or saprophytic (feeding on dead and decaying organisms), e.g. Cuscuta is a parasite, mushroom is a saprophytic plant.
